First off, give us a quick summary of your chise up to this point.
Well, I just finished the third season which was disappointing at 10-3 considering the talent I had on the team. I did get the Fiesta Bowl victory, though, so that was a plus. Huge step up from the second season’s 8-5 and the first season’s 10-3 since I didn’t get into the BCS bowls.
What made you choose this team?
I love LSU, went to LSU and lived in Baton Rouge for a year as well. It was really a no brainer for me. I knew no team could hold my attention like my Tigers.
What’s your teams strengths and weaknesses?
I have a lot of speed on both sides of the ball(that SEC) and it really makes a difference on the defensive side. As for weaknesses, my offense is pretty wishy-washy and I never get solid quarterback play. The secondary leaves something to be desired as well.
Who is your favorite player on your team?
Either linebacker Paul Treagen or running back Terrell Taylor. They both can pretty much do everything on their side of the ball and it’s always fun to play with players with ridiculously high speed, agility, and acceleration ratings.
Who has been your best acquisition? (through sign/trade)
As of now, I’d have to say the above-mentioned Treangen has been my best recruit. He came in as an athlete who would have been an 80 overall safety or corner but he was an 82 at outside linebacker where I lacked depth. The rest is history after that.
Greatest moment in your chise so far
It’s a toss up between the comeback victory with my backup quarterback against Arkansas in my second season after losing the four games before it or coming back to win in the last three or so minutes against Auburn in the third season.
What other chises do you follow on here?
I follow pretty much all of the NCAA chises. I’m a big fan of college football and I like to see how people are building their teams.
If you could improve/change one thing about DSS, what would it be?
I’d like to see a bigger franchise community. On any sports game forum, I’ve ever posted on I’ve always loved to follow the chises. It gives you something to compare your own ventures to and see what other people are doing with your favorite teams.
Have any tips for other chisers?
This is probably overstated but pick a team that you enjoy a lot. Most people shy away from powerhouse teams because they think they will go undefeated every season and all that jazz when that’s not always true. Also, do it as long as it’s fun. This isn’t a job or work so it should never feel like a chore to update. That goes back to team selection, though. Pick a team that you love and you’ll be able to go at it for seasons upon seasons.
