First off, give us a quick summary of your chise up to this point.
To summarise; traded for Dwight Howard in pre-season (sending Deng, Noah and Gibson the other way)… struggled for form, things picked up around the All Star break and we ended up making a decent run to pickup the 4th seed in the East with 45 wins. Just started the playoffs and have stretched out to a 3-0 series lead over the Magic and if all things end up well, will face the Heat in the Semi Finals.
What made you choose this team?
Part history, I mean its there for all to see.. the Bulls were the team in the 90s, but since then not a lot. So its the want to revive that success, plus the duel factor of having DRose from the off and the trade bait to pulloff a move to get Howard as that was part of my thought process before I started.
What’s your teams strengths and weaknesses?
Without naming the obvious individuals that we have at our disposal, id like to say our 3pt shooting is outstanding… options go deep from Rose, Rip, Korver, Hill even CJ Watson, we can light it up if the time is right. Alongside that, Howard and Boozer are a tough pair to grab a rebound off so we have good success in that category. Weakness is probably team depth, we have a few players that dont make the grade so to speak and that hurts us at times when we need to bring in fresh legs.
Who is your favorite player on your team?
I like my starting 5 tbh and Jimmy Butler has been a nice surprise, but if im naming one it has to be Derrick Rose. Just flat out fun from dunks to pull up J’s… you name it he has it, plus has the energy to be effective in defense which helps.
Who has been your best acquisition? (through sign/trade)
Has to be Howard. Seeing him swat away shots is one of my favourite parts of the game… but he brings his game every night. The exciting part was getting him to commit to a 6yr/$150m (or similar) deal, crazy money but to have Rose and Howard locked in for the next 5 years is a big motivator.
Greatest moment in your chise so far
Completing the regular season and making the playoffs. Its quite a feat to play 82 games and to have enough success to have a shot at the playoffs is something im proud of.
What other chises do you follow on here?
Quite a few, I like to check in on all of them and try to leave feedback as and when I can. Theres alot of talented people on here, from writing to graphics etc so its interesting to see how everyone approaches their Chise. Without wishing to offend anyone by not naming them, its only fair for me to shoutout to Agent for his Kings, Mike and his Hornets, Deejay and the Jazz, mike3′s Clippers and Maize with his Cavs… Flight, RecksJr, NaturalMVP and Rain also do some solid work. But as I say there are loads out there and I encourage everyone to take a look, some might not be your cup of tea but there is always something fun going happening in this section of the boards.
If you could improve/change one thing about DSS, what would it be?
I dont think theres many improvements I could suggest but something that id like to say is that I dont think DSS gets the credit it should do. Im obviously a fan of the Chise boards which are the best bar none ive found on the web, but also credit is due for the honesty that there is on here about different topics, something I dare suggest other ‘sports gaming’ sites could do well to learn from.
Have any tips for other chisers?
I think be yourself is the best way to go about it. If you dont like writing loads, then ensure you have a simple ‘copy and paste’ layout that you can reuse as you go along, same for graphics or videos try not to get bogged down. The main thing though is to have fun with the game, if you enjoy playing it comes across in your updates and always remember there is no harm in having a break, 1 day, 1 week or so… if you are feeling burned or just want to try something else, do it, because the call of 2k12 and your Chise will bring you back if you have that bond.
